🎟️ VETERANS: Have You Heard of Vet Tix?
We used Vet Tix again last week to get tickets to the GenX Takeover Comedy Tour at Foxwoods, and it reminded us what a great resource this can be for veterans, retirees, active-duty military and their families.
What is Vet Tix?
Vet Tix is a nonprofit organization that provides tickets to military members, veterans, retirees and eligible family members as a way of thanking them for their service.
And we're not just talking about one type of event.
Depending on what's available in your area, you may find:
🎵 Concerts
🏀 Sporting events
😂 Comedy shows
🎭 Theater and performing arts
🎪 Family events
🚛 Motorsports and other special events
…and more.
The events are available in communities all over the country — not just major cities.
If you haven't signed up yet, here's how it works:
1️⃣ Create a free account at VetTix.org and verify your military eligibility.
2️⃣ Search for events in your area — or check what's available at a destination you're planning to visit.
3️⃣ When you find an event you want, check whether tickets are first-come, first-served or part of a lottery. (See below for more info on the lottery.)
4️⃣ Request your tickets and follow the instructions to receive them.
There is no charge for the tickets themselves, although a delivery/processing fee may apply depending on the event. (For instance, we paid $13.98 for our two tickets to this event. We haven't seen any delivery/processing fee be more than $20 total, regardless of how many tickets you've chosen.)
🎲 **What are Vet Tix "coins"?**
Vet Tix also has a coin system for certain events.
You can earn coins through things like maintaining an account and referrals, and coins can be used to enter ticket lotteries. You can earn coins just by having an account (2 per month) and additional coins for thank you posts, completing occasional surveys or referrals.
Not every event is a lottery — many tickets are simply available on a first-come, first-served basis.
And here's something important: **If you don't win a lottery, your coins are returned** according to the Vet Tix process described on their site.
💡 **OUR BIGGEST TIP:**
Don't just check Vet Tix when you're sitting at home.
If you're planning a vacation, road trip or visiting family somewhere, check Vet Tix for that destination too.
You might find an event you never would have considered — and it could turn into a really fun addition to your trip.
