Before modern refrigeration, LCL used barrels of wet ice mixed with salt to keep food cold on the road. It was a labor-intensive process, but it showed a strong commitment to quality from the very beginning.

In 1939, that same commitment led to a major step forward with the purchase of one of the first mechanical refrigeration trailers in the country. Built by Thermo King and known as the Model A, it helped position LCL as a pioneer in refrigerated food transport!
