A great few days at The International Association of Airport Executives (IAAE) correct North America | Europe Airport Issues Conference! ✈️

We were proud to attend as both a sponsor and speaker, connecting with aviation leaders from across North America and Europe to discuss the challenges and innovations shaping the future of our industry.

Our very own Darren S. Large, A.A.E., ACE spoke about Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and shared insight into our FOD AI system, which our Operations Department has been beta testing over the past year. It was exciting to highlight how technology and innovation can help enhance safety and operational awareness on the airfield.

We were also proud to sponsor Morning Coffee, giving us another opportunity to connect, collaborate, and build relationships with fellow aviation professionals.

A great few days at The International Association of Airport Executives (IAAE) North America | Europe Airport Issues Conference! ✈️

What do you do when you need to check Runway friction due to the build up of rubber from aircraft landing?
You use continuous friction measuring equipment (CFME).

What happens if you don’t have a CFME?
You phone a friend!☎️

Today our friends at Harrisburg International Airport brought their CFME Runway Friction Test vehicle to MMU to assist the MMU staff in evaluating the friction on Runway 5-23 and Runway 13-31.

While runways and rubber build up are monitored daily through inspections by the Operations Department, sometimes you need a device like a CFME to really determine the true friction readings. CFME’s will measure the coefficient of friction (skid resistance) on a runway surface using specialized equipment to help airports manage maintenance and safety. The CFME will provide Mu values which are then reviewed to better understand performance of the pavement.

These efforts help to ensure that MMU has a safe and reliable runway for everyone. It’s extremely valuable for airports to have relationships with other airports. Those relationships can offer guidance, support and assistance to each other when needed.

We truly value our relationship with Harrisbug International Airport and we are thankful that they were able to help us keep our runways safe and operating at their best!

Morristown Airport attended the AAAE General Aviation Conference hosted by our friends Chicago Executive Airport (PWK). We had a great time connecting with aviation professionals from across the industry and gaining valuable insight into the latest trends, ideas, and opportunities in general aviation. It was a great opportunity to learn, network, and represent Morristown Municipal Airport alongside others who are passionate about the future of aviation.

What an incredible weekend at Morristown Airport with the FIFA World Cup Final right here in our backyard! To all who flew with us, thank you! You saw first-hand what separates MMU from the rest; the people!

It takes a village to pull off major events at general aviation airports, and there’s no group quite like the one at MMU!
Thank you to the MMU Air Traffic Controllers who kept things running smoothly, safely and efficiently, well done! We’d also like to extend our appreciation to the folks at Philadelphia TRACON for their support and filling the gaps and getting flights in and out so seamlessly.

To the Customer Service Reps, Line Service Technicians and others at our Signature Aviation & Atlantic Aviation thank you for showing the world what MMU is all about! Your service was top notch, as always, and greatly appreciated by all. And a shoutout to the team Go Rentals for getting everyone where they need to be, after landing!
To our friends at Jomar, thank you for keeping the fuel flowing during an incredibly busy weekend! None of us can do what we do without you!

Last but not least, thank you to the team at the Department of Homeland Security for taking great care of our international travelers at MMU. We are not a global airport without you!
