Due to the anticipated landfall of Hurricane Isaias, the Jackson County Government offices will be CLOSED ALL DAY Friday, October 9, 2026.

The Jackson County Government offices will resume normal business on Monday, October 12, 2026. For additional information and updates, we encourage you to follow our Jackson County, Mississippi Government and/or our Jackson County Office of Emergency Services pages.

Trent Lott International Airport is closely monitoring Hurricane Isaias and its potential impacts on airport operations.

Potential impacts may include strong winds and gusts, heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, possible tornadoes, and changing airfield conditions.

⛽ Fuel & Aviation Services - Closed at 9am Friday, please call for any urgent fuel or other aviation needs, contact Southern Sky Aviation at 228-474-1000.

🍽️ Sky Cafe Closure
Due to anticipated weather conditions, the Sky Cafe will be closed Friday, October 9, 2026.

Our team will continue monitoring conditions and provide updates regarding airport operations as needed.

We encourage everyone to stay informed through official weather sources, plan accordingly, and prioritize safety.

Now this is something you don’t see every day at FLY PQL!

We recently had the opportunity to catch some photos of a Sikorsky S-61N. This impressive helicopter was built in 1968 and belongs to the same Sikorsky S-61 family that produced the famous military Sea King.

The S-61N is powered by two General Electric CT58 turboshaft engines and was designed as a heavy-duty transport helicopter. Over the years, aircraft in the S-61 family have taken on everything from passenger and offshore transportation to military operations, search and rescue, and aerial firefighting.

And after nearly 60 years, the Sirkorsky is still an impressive sight!

We always enjoy seeing the variety of aircraft that make their way through Trent Lott International Airport and this one was definitely worth stopping for a few pictures!

A big congratulations to Steve Shearer of Lucedale, Mississippi, our 2026 Cruising Low Award Winner!

Steve brought out his beautiful 1976 Cadillac Eldorado, and even a little rain couldn’t keep this classic from shining!

Thank you, Steve, for joining us for Flying High & Cruising Low at Trent Lott International Airport and helping make this year’s event a memorable one.

We hope to see Steve and all of our car enthusiasts back next year!
