She told us her mom had spent over 50,000 dollars on storage over the years.
We recently helped a young woman who was going through her mother’s belongings after she passed away. She had already spent months going through everything and keeping the things that meant the most to her.
What was left was a full house, a packed garage, and two completely full storage units.
It was a lot. Not just a lot of stuff but a lot to deal with.
We stepped in to help her finish something she didn’t have the energy for anymore.
As we worked through everything, she shared that her mom had been paying on those units for years. She said that sometimes people just have a hard time letting go of things.
And honestly, a lot of people can relate to that including myself.
There was actually a lot of good stuff in there. No treasure box, Porsche or anything super fancy but there was plenty of furniture, household items, things someone else could really use. We made sure as much as possible went to people instead of just throwing it all away at the dump.
But more than anything, this job was about helping her move forward in life. This is an overwhelming task and it's hard to do it by yourself.
If you’re dealing with something like this, whether it’s a house, a garage, or even storage units that have gotten overwhelming, you don’t have to handle it alone.
