• The Knox Area Transit operates its programs and services without regard to race, color, and national origin in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act. Any person who believes she or he has been aggrieved by any unl

awful discriminatory practice under Title VI may file a complaint with the Knox Area Transit Director.
• For more information on the Knox Area Transit civil rights program, and the procedures to file a complaint, contact 740-392-7433, (TTY 800-750-0750); email [email protected]; or visit our administrative office at 25 Columbus Rd., Mt. Vernon OH 43050.
• A complainant may file a complaint directly with the Federal Transit Administration by filing a complaint with the Office of Civil Rights, Attention: Title VI Program Coordinator, East Building, 5th Floor-TCR, 1200 New Jersey Ave., SE, Washington DC 20590.
• If information is needed in another language, contact the Transit Director at 740-392-7433

In an effort to increase efficiency and meet ride demand we are updating out service policies for subscriptions and out of county rides. We want to ensure that we are able to give trips to riders when needed and not reserve spots for those who don't need a ride.

Please view the policies on our website or request a copy be mailed to you. We will be enforcing these policies starting September 7, 2026.

We’re honored to announce that Knox County Transit has been selected as the recipient of the 2026 Mobility Exchange Regional Mobility Initiative Award from the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC)!

The Mobility Initiative Award recognizes projects that enhance mobility, implement innovative transportation solutions, and create meaningful improvements toward a more connected transportation system across Central Ohio.

Knox County Transit was recognized for our Night Bus program, one of the first dedicated rural nighttime transit services in Ohio. The Night Bus provides a vital transportation option for late-night workers, helping residents get to and from work safely while supporting local businesses and strengthening our rural economy.

This achievement would not have been possible without the support of our riders, community partners, local employers, and dedicated staff. Thank you for helping us make transportation more accessible for everyone in Knox County Ohio.
