This weekend, employees from Brown Bus Company joined our sister company, Caldwell Transportation Company, for an unforgettable rafting adventure.

It was a great opportunity to enjoy Idaho’s beautiful outdoors, and spend time building friendships with coworkers and their families.

A huge thank you to Cascade Raft & Kayak for providing such a fun, safe, and memorable experience, and to everyone who came along and made the day so enjoyable.

Thanks to everyone who joined in on our School Bus Trivia! Here are the answers:

Q1: School Bus Yellow
The official color of school buses is ‘National School Bus Glossy Yellow’, commonly called School Bus Yellow. It is highly visible in all weather conditions. The color contrasts well with the black lettering and is easy to recognize from a distance.

Q2: True
School buses are the safest form of transportation. They have elevated frames, high backed padded seats, warning lights and crossing arms designed to protect passengers.

Q3: 6 Mirrors
2 flat mirrors that provide a view down the sides of the bus and traffic behind, 2 convex mirrors that give a wider view of the sides and rear, and 2 crossover mirrors that allow the driver to see the danger zone directly in front of the bus and the front tires. These mirrors are an essential part of helping drivers safely monitor the bus’s “danger zone.”

Q4: Stop
When a school bus has its red lights flashing and stop arm extended, drivers must stop according to their state’s school bus laws. This gives students a safe opportunity to cross the street and board or exit the bus without unnecessary risk.

While students are enjoying their summer break, our team is hard at work preparing for a safe and successful school year.

Behind the scenes, we are:
• Hiring and training new drivers and staff
• Reviewing routes and creating the safest bus stops possible
• Inspecting, servicing, and repairing every bus in our fleet
• Updating safety procedures and preparing for the first day of school

A lot happens before students step onto a bus. Every mile we drive starts with months of planning, maintenance, and teamwork to help ensure every ride is a safe one.

We can’t wait to welcome our students back soon!

We are currently in the 100 Deadliest Days of Summer… the period between Memorial Day and Labor Day when serious crashes increase across Idaho and the nation.

Thankfully, every one of us has the power to help change that.

Happy Independence Day from Brown Bus Company!!!

We had a blast at today’s 4th of July parade, with the bus decorated in a Mrs. Roper theme. We love being part of the communities we serve and creating memories at local events throughout the year.
