After 9 years of flying and over 1000 hrs, this is the first major repair to our airplane. You build it, fly it and eventually you have to fix it. All part of the “adventure”. Despite the hassle and repair cost, there is something satisfying and rewarding about working with your hands and fixing things. Thank you Aleve!

Failed B Generator is requiring a new stator. Unfortunately you can’t get to it with the engine so close to the firewall...

Failed B Generator is requiring a new stator. Unfortunately you can’t get to it with the engine so close to the firewall so off comes the engine. A few nights of busting knuckles under the instrument panel to remove the engine harnesses and removing fuel and oil lines and the engine was free. A 5 hour drive up to southern Wisconsin to have it replaced at a repair shop and then on to Oshkosh. Hope to have it all back together in a week or so once we return.
