Some desks say you’ve arrived. This one says you built the damn railroad to get here.

The Timber Top Desk doesn’t borrow its character from a design trend. It gets it from the materials themselves: authentic North American railroad timbers, vintage American rail, and original railroad gauge rods—the hardware built to hold track together under tremendous force.

The scars stay.
The incisor marks stay.
The foundry brands stay.

Because when the materials have a story this good, you don’t polish away the evidence.

At 72 inches wide, this is a substantial executive desk built from steel and hardwood, made in the USA, and accompanied by a personalized Certificate of Authenticity documenting the history of its reclaimed railroad materials.

You can buy a desk. Or you can own a piece of the infrastructure that built America.

Railroad tracks have a tendency to wander. 🚂

Temperature changes, vibration and the constant force of trains can cause rail to slowly “creep” down the track. Rail anchors say: not today.

These small but mighty pieces of railroad hardware clip onto the rail and bear against the cross tie, helping keep the rail exactly where it belongs. They come in several styles, with names like Fair, Unit and Channellock.

They may look like hunks of old steel to most people. To us, they’re pieces of railroad history—and every object in our shop has a story.

That’s what Rail Yard Studios is all about: preserving the materials, ingenuity and history of the American railroad, one piece at a time. 🛤️⚒️

Some coffee tables hold your coffee. This one holds a piece of American history.

The Sleepers Coffee Table is built from reclaimed railroad steel, solid hardwood timbers and granite ballast—the same basic materials that have carried trains across America for generations. A glass top turns all that raw history into a striking piece of modern industrial design.

And No. 50 or No. 37 is exactly that: individually numbered, marked with an authentic railroad date nail and accompanied by a signed certificate of provenance.

No mass production. No pretending something is vintage. This is the real thing.

At 54” long, it has enough presence to anchor a living room, executive office or lobby—and enough history to make sure someone asks about it.

🏭 His name is still stamped into the steel more than a century later.

Before skyscrapers dominated city skylines and highways crossed the country, America was being connected by rail—and Andrew Carnegie saw the opportunity in steel. 🚂

Today, we occasionally find CARNEGIE stamped into the vintage railroad rail we reclaim at Rail Yard Studios. Those letters aren’t just a maker’s mark. They’re a piece of the industrial story that helped build America. 🇺🇸

And instead of sending that history to the scrapyard, we build with it. ⚒️
Read our latest blog to discover how Carnegie Steel helped build America’s railroads—and how some of that history is still living on today.

Most people will never notice these.

Track jacks aren’t glamorous. They don’t throw sparks or steal the spotlight. But they quietly do one of the most important jobs on the railroad—holding rail in perfect alignment while everything else falls into place.

In the background, the grinder is preparing the rail for a weld. Every cut, every adjustment, every fraction of an inch matters. Because when the weld is finished, trains will roll across that joint thousands of times without ever knowing the work that went into it.

The strongest railroads aren’t built on big moments. They’re built on precision.

Follow along for more behind-the-scenes looks at the tools, craftsmanship, and people that keep America’s railroads moving. 🚂

Sometimes the best ideas don’t come from a meeting—they come from stepping outside.

Just beyond our workshop, the trains keep rolling. Steel on steel. Miles of history.
The rhythm, the power, the stories carried down the rails.

When we need a spark of inspiration, we don’t have to look far. We simply watch the trains pass by and remember why we do what we do.

Every piece we create begins with a story. Sometimes, that story is rolling right past our back door. 🚂

Some tools don’t just do a job. They earn a reputation.

Rail Dawgs are built to grip hard, hold fast, and take the punishment that comes with life on the railroad. They’re one of those pieces of equipment that crews rely on because failure isn’t an option when thousands of pounds of steel are on the move.

Every scratch tells a story. Every dent was earned. And every day, they prove that the toughest jobs demand the toughest tools.

🎥 Watch the video to see why Rail Dawgs have become an essential part of the work that keeps America’s railroads moving.
