Terminal Thursdays is back again with another answer to a question about this side of Ingram Marine Group's business.

Most of our Terminal operations are located in St. Louis, MO: why?

St. Louis is a major hub for terminal operations because of its strategic location on the Mississippi River system, as multiple inland waterways, rail networks, and interstate highways converge here. Through an extensive network of river terminals and storage yards, this region supports high volumes of bulk and breakbulk commodities, including aggregates, grain, steel, fertilizer, and industrial materials.

Its central location in the U.S. and multimodal infrastructure make St. Louis an efficient distribution point for moving freight between barge, rail, and truck, helping shippers reduce transportation costs and improve supply chain flexibility.

You already know what time it is: Towboat Tuesday! Our featured vessel of the week is the M/V Texas Star.

The M/V Texas Star was part of the Midland Enterprises acquisition in 2002 and has kept its original name. The vessel is a 1,200-horsepower, twin screw towboat measuring 66.5 feet in length and 24 feet in width. It was built in 1967 by LeMay Barge & Supply in Greenville, Mississippi.
