This week's Terminal Thursdays focuses on Ingram Infrastructure Group's newest facility, the Mid TN River Port, which is set to open later this year in Ashland City, TN.

The 40-acre site at mile marker 162 on the Cumberland River, will be home to a new inland port. It will be designed to handle a variety of dry goods, including cement, rebar, aluminum, and rubber. The port will be located less than 10 miles from Interstates 40 and 65, with potential for rail access to CSX via Nashville & Western Railroad.

This week's Towboat Tuesday features the M/V Cheryl K, which primarily operates out of our Houston, TX Fleet. This vessel was part of the Cheryl K asset acquisition in 2020 and has kept its original name.

The vessel is a 950-horsepower, twin screw towboat measuring 50 feet in length and 20 feet in width. It has a retractable pilothouse and was built in 1985 by Thrift Shipbuilding & Repair in Sulphur, LA.

How much equipment/cargo moves through our terminals on an annual basis?

Our St. Louis market terminals handle over 25,000 railcars, 10,000 trucks, 2,300 barges and over 4 MILLION tons of cargo each year! We accomplish this while never compromising on safety or operational excellence.

After 37 years with Ingram Barge Company, please join us in congratulating Captain Thomas “Tommy” E. Lee on his upcoming retirement.

Capt. Tommy started with us in 1989 as a green Deckhand on the M/V Martha Ingram, and after seven years on deck, was accepted into the Pilot Program and later assigned to the M/V John M. Rivers. He then settled into the Captain’s spot on the M/V Aaron F. Barrett, and has led the vessel for the last 23 years.

“I have had a great career with Ingram and have worked with a lot of good people, making friends along the way,” Capt. Tommy said. “I am very thankful to Orrin and the rest of the Ingram family.”

He looks forward to spending more time with family and working on his cattle farm. Thank you for your decades of hard work and dedication to Ingram, Captain, you will be missed.
