Day One is officially in the books, and we’re off to Day Two!🚌

Yesterday’s sessions gave us an opportunity to really dig into what leadership looks like in public transportation—not just managing the work, but **leading people through the work.**

We spent Day One exploring how to:
✨ Diagnose the real work before rushing into action
✨ Manage ourselves under pressure
✨ Remain steady when challenges arise
✨ Energize others around a shared purpose
✨ Remember that the work we do connects people to **jobs, healthcare, education, family, opportunity, and community**

Today, we’re picking up right where we left off with more great sessions, beginning with “Know the Stories Others Tell About You.” It’s an important reminder that leadership isn’t only about what we intend—it’s also about how others experience us, especially during moments of pressure and change.

Looking forward to another day of learning, reflection, connection, and growth.

🎉 What an amazing way to get everyone ENGAGED! 🎉

Bobbie brought the energy during a wonderful icebreaker session at the 24th Annual MPTA Leadership Conference! She challenged everyone to participate in Human Bingo, and there was no sitting on the sidelines! 😄

Participants had to get up, get out of their seats, meet new people, ask questions, and actually NETWORK in order to complete their bingo cards. The room was filled with conversation, laughter, new connections, and plenty of energy! 🤝🚌

But Bobbie didn’t stop there! Her inspirational session truly touched the room. Before we knew it, our conference room had transformed into a choir filled with singing, encouragement, and worship!🙌🏾🎶

What a powerful reminder that leadership is about more than titles—it’s about connection, inspiration, participation, and bringing people together.

Thank you, Bobbie, for creating such a memorable experience and making sure EVERYONE was involved!

🚍 The 24th Annual MPTA Leadership Conference is officially underway!🚍

We have kicked off an exciting week of leadership, learning, collaboration, and moving Mississippi transportation forward!

Our opening session began with our MPTA President welcoming attendees and setting the tone for what promises to be an impactful week.

We were also honored to welcome several distinguished leaders who joined us for our opening session:

City of Jackson Mayor John Horhn
Mississippi Transportation Commissioner Willie Simmons
Hinds County Board of Supervisors Vice President Wanda Evers

We are grateful for their presence, words of encouragement, and continued support of public transportation and the communities we serve throughout Mississippi.

There is so much more ahead this week as transportation professionals from across the state come together to connect, learn, share ideas, and strengthen the future of mobility in Mississippi.

Day 3 of the CTAA Expo started with the awards ceremony, and we are so proud of every nominee representing the state of Mississippi!

Congratulations to Delta Rides Regional Coordinated Group on receiving CTAA Outstanding Community Partner Award.

We’ve always seen the incredible work being done by our regional groups, and now the rest of the country gets to see what we’ve always known Mississippi is capable of. Your dedication to serving communities and connecting people to transportation continues to make a difference every day.

As we begin Day 3 of the CTAA Expo 2026, let’s take a look back at an exciting and educational Day 2!

From engaging learning sessions and networking opportunities to exploring the trade show floor, the day was filled with valuable experiences and new ideas to bring back to Mississippi. One of the surprise highlights of the day? Puppies at the expo! 🐶

From puppy yoga to a little friendly mini golf, attendees had the chance to relax, recharge, and connect while continuing to learn and grow together. CTAA 2026 has truly been the perfect balance of professional development and fun!

Day 1 of the CTAA Expo 2026 kicked off with an inspiring general opening session, bringing transportation professionals from across the country together in one room to connect, collaborate, and learn.

Mississippi participants then branched off into several different sessions and intensive training classes, gaining valuable knowledge and new ideas to bring back home. We’re excited about the opportunities ahead and look forward to applying what we learn to continue strengthening public transportation and coordinated mobility across Mississippi!

Our first stop is the National Roadeo, and we are proudly cheering on all of the Mississippi drivers competing today! 🚍🏆 Your hard work, dedication, and commitment to safe transportation represent our state well, and we couldn’t be more proud.
