1955 Cook Laboratories 1089 10-inch LP featuring pianist RED CAMP. "Red Camp the self-proclaimed "fugitive piano smasher from 52nd Street," plays mad jazz piano on this 1955 release. Born in West Texas, he describes his music as being caught in the war between the "Moldy Figs" (jazz purists) and Be Boppers (a more modern style). On this album Camp is accompanied by Chet Rupe on guitar and Arley Cooper on bass on 5 of the 8 tunes and he plays solo piano on the other 3”. - from Amazon. Recorded in Corpus Christi, Texas, circa 1954. This album, titled Upright, is subtitled on the back cover as "Mad Music for Tea-Time in Texas".
