We had a great time this year at the 5th Fly Me To The Moon 5K! 412 registered runners here at the Airport took part in the festivities. We had a Delorian again as the lead vehicle and a drone company overhead taking pictures and video. Everyone got to take part with running on our new runway sealcoat and seeing the fresh paint!

Race conditions started out a bit warm, but the temp started to drop nicely once the sun set. What a great evening for the event! Check out some of the pictures and video from the event. Share some of your own in the comments!

Big thanks to all who participated, spectated, and volunteered! We also couldn’t have done it without our vendors! RJ Burke Insurance, Ranger Concessions, Rable’s Auto Service, Grier’s Power Digging, Shahan Aviation Services.

The runway sealcoat project has finished up early! We are back open. Now challenging aviators to make the first tire marks on the new paint!

05/23/2025

For those who maybe planning flights into or out of the Neil Armstrong Airport, AXV will be closed from June 9 until June 23 for a runway sealcoat project. This project will rejuvenate the runway surface, fill and seal any cracks, and brighten up our paint markings.

Project updates will be posted periodically throughout the closure to keep everyone up to date. Appropriate FAA NOTAMs will be issued as well.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the Airport Manager. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this closure may cause!

One year ago today, we were all looking up—literally—watching the total solar eclipse right overhead the Neil Armstrong Airport. The skies parted, the light dimmed, everything got still, and for the four and a half minutes, it felt like time stopped. Such an unforgettable experience! With over a year and a half of planning, we were able to safely accommodate 83 aircraft, numerous driving spectators, and even the Montana State University's Nationwide Eclipse Ballooning Project!

Looking back on this amazing day, we would like to thank everyone who had chosen our airport to share this moment! What a day!

We’ve had three pilots receive their Private Pilot’s certificate over the past month since having started training with Midwest Corporate Air! Three more are going to be signed off soon! More spots are available here at the Neil Armstrong Airport for you to get started on your path to become a pilot. Flight training locally can’t get any easier. And, how neat to begin your flight training where Neil himself has flown!
