Project Alert: The Stage 1 highway alignment is now in effect on I-95 northbound. Motorists should pay close attention to all posted signs and lane markings as they travel through the area. If you are taking the crossover to continue on I-95 northbound, stay in the LEFT lane. If you need to take Exit 85, stay in the RIGHT lane. AVOID last minute lane changes. Sudden lane changes can lead to crashes and put you and other motorists at risk. Know your route, get into the correct lane early, and maintain a safe speed. Follow the signs. Stay in your lane. Drive safely.

Project Notification: CTDOT is announcing a new traffic pattern on I-95 northbound that will be implemented on Friday, August 28th, between 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. As part of ongoing construction activities, northbound traffic will be shifted into two travel lanes located in the center of the highway. Construction work areas will be located both on the left and right sides of the northbound travel lanes. This new traffic pattern will not impact the crossover.

The new traffic pattern is expected to remain in place for approximately two years to accommodate the next phase of construction.

Project Alert: Please be advised that in addition to police presence, cameras are also being used to enforce the 45 mph speed limit through the work zone.

Project Notification: For the safety of everyone traveling through the work zone, speed enforcement will begin soon.

Please remember that the posted speed limit is 45 MPH. Slowing down helps protect construction crews, other motorists, and keeps traffic moving safely.

Holiday Restrictions: The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that there will be no maintenance or construction activities for the upcoming Independence Day Holiday, from 6 a.m. Thursday, July 2 through 6:00 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2026. Only work of an emergency nature will be considered.
