... and a Ducky was Born
Twelve moves in 18 years. No, I am not military. I just enjoy life and want to experience every aspect of it. However, after twelve moves I have gotten the process down. Sell off everything I don’t need. Throw everything away that is garbage. Pack up and move. Easy, right? Not so much.
Every move I’ve done has been a pain, and has increasingly become a pain. 3 boxes of stuff that I had on my first move out of my father’s house grew to an entire moving truck as I accumulated more and more stuff. It happens, afterall. It’s life. I was a single guy with a few skateboards and a computer. That grew to a wife that had her stuff. As we increased our lifestyle, we accumulated more stuff. Momentos from travel, pictures of our adventures, and... kids. Once the kids came, it was over. We had more stuff accumulating every day. Our last move was to downsize from a 3,000 sf house in the suburbs to a small apartment in the city. We are still paying for storage units to hold all of the stuff we’ve accumulated.
Stuff... It is the tangible association we give to memories. We didn’t go to Paris without the Eiffel Tour keychain. That stuffed animal we bought isn’t just a stuffed animal; it is that time you were at the airport on the business trip and your 6-year old daughter needed something that let her know you were thinking of her. The rubber ducky isn’t just a rubber ducky; It was bath time with your newborn, that smile they gave you when it would squeak, the moments that they would play with it as they grew into a toddler. This is the foundation of Ducky Box.
We know your stuff isn’t just stuff. It is memories. You treat your memories with care - Because it is who you are. We know this and understand this. We call our boxes, “Duckies”, because the contents within are as precious as those memories that they symbolize. We make it our goal to take care of them.
