We were in a nearby town when Deputy Utt was tragically killed while responding to a welfare check with another deputy. Upon arrival, Deputy Utt was shot and killed and his partner was shot in the ballistic vest and thankfully survived. After speaking with several locals, I learned how respected Deputy Utt was in the community he served. A military veteran, Firefighter/EMT, loyal Deputy, father and husband such a tragic killing. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Carroll County community, his family, coworkers and everyone effected by this horrific tragedy

Another great Harvest Host. Later tonight we’ll catch some of the movie and grab the kids some drive-in movie food and maybe some ice cream. Tomorrow we continue east then into North Carolina

Kids were great yesterday as we explored the Smoky Mountains and visited family in North Carolina. Even though it rained and they were in their car seats for a bit they entertained us and had a blast
