APS UAR…. All in all it was actually pretty straight forward considering it’s just an AK internally! Still, not a build I’d recommend for beginners!

I actually built this a while ago, but didn’t post it for some reason. Well, it came back to have the battery connector re-routed to the mock PEQ on the top rail!

Review of Solink’s new prototype NGRS Gears!

TLDR: Excellent Gearset, no issues with Bevel spec, but my specific sample set had a couple of defects that aren’t reflected in any other Gearset I have used from Solink. Other testers have also reported to not have the same defects in their samples as I had. Despite the small defects in my sample set, they shimmed up and run beautifully!

When these are finished and released, these will be my go-to for every NGRS Build.

Unusual Repairs | King Arms Gr***de Launcher

This guy came in with a very stuck latch. It couldn’t open. I disassemble the whole thing to find the issue is a broken arm attached to a cam on the underside of the latch. I cutoff the arm shaft, used the lathe to make a new one with threads at the end, drilled and Tappet a hole in the arm connector. What was one a broken pot metal rod is now a fastened steel rod. I also went ahead and polished some of the latch components to make it a bit easier to open/close.

End result, it opens, closes, and fires!

Night games at NEVER disappoint!

Rich ran his new TM Evolt and it is very field-able in its stock configuration, provided it’s at night with tracers. We can’t imagine the Evolt being as effective during the day at under 1 Joule. The tracers give visual feedback that really helps enemy players acknowledge their hits. Otherwise, nobody could be blamed for not feeling those hits at 200ft.
a.r.t (Rich) and I are really trying to spearhead the effort to Bully our favorite part manufacturers to make aftermarket upgrades for the Evolt! This gun just needs a programmable ETU that can accept reverse direction brushless motors, hardened gears, steel bushings, main springs, and a full metal rack piston. AEP barrels and buckings continue to exist, so that’s already taken care of!

The G&G TR80… Almost a very Based gun if I’m being honest.

The most we can reasonably do is perfect compression, run a slightly stronger spring, and run a quality barrel/bucking. The ETU is proprietary. I wouldn’t risk a brushless in this, and I’d only upgrade the already decent IFRIT 25k motor if we were trying to pull a much stronger spring. G&G makes strong 18:1 gears, the elongated 19tooth FMR Piston is actually quite nice. Here’s what we changed:
- Airsoft Mutations Whisper MkIII Piston Head with Brass Weight
- EPeS 21.00mm Nozzle
- 4UAD Bucking and Nub

For now, we keep everything else stock… except… it’s disgruntled tech rant hour.

If you are going to use a compression spring for a Tappet Plate, it has to be atleast double the length of the length-of-travel of the Tappet/Nozzle. Otherwise, the tiny spring will either A) never be strong enough to maintain proper headspace when uncompressed, or B) if it is strong enough to solve the former, never compress short enough to not jam/destroy the Tappet Plate.

G&G could have easily made room in this gun to use a return spring with pre-load. I know this because I did it for them. Look what they made the Dremel do… this could have all been avoided 🤣

I’m not mad, you’re mad.

- The guy who bought 8 different kinds of compression springs at the hardware store to hopefully find (or make) the ONE that would work with the gun as it was designed.
