Turks and Caicos travel update for fall 2026: what’s closed, where the seaweed is, and what’s changed before your trip.

It’s silly season in Providenciales, when a lot of resorts and restaurants close for September and October. We put everything in one place so you don’t have to dig through old posts.

- COMO Parrot Cay reopens Oct 15 and Point Grace reopens Oct 8. The main pool at Seven Stars is open again.
- Grace Bay Beach is clear right now. Long Bay has had heavy sargassum this September, and it changes day to day.
- Ashes, Coco Bistro, Embers and The Terrace reopen Oct 1. Baci and The Farm are closed all of October.
- BermudAir adds nonstops from Fort Lauderdale on Oct 26, and from Newark, Boston and Toronto on Dec 19.
- There’s no Uber or Lyft on island, and stores don’t sell alcohol on Sundays.
- Hurricane season runs through Nov 30, so book flexible rates.

Where to stay in Turks and Caicos 🏝️ Save this for when you book.
After 20+ trips to Providenciales since 2020, here’s our honest shortlist by traveler type:

🏖️ FIRST TRIP → A Grace Bay Beach resort. Our favorite: Seven Stars Resort & Spa — dead center on the best beach in the world.

👨‍👩‍👦 FAMILIES → Beaches Turks and Caicos all-inclusive for the waterpark version, or a Grace Bay condo with a kitchen for the budget-saner version. Either way, spend a day at Sapodilla Bay — the shallowest, calmest water on the island (rental car needed).

💑 COUPLES + HONEYMOON → Wymara Resort + Villas on the quiet Bight end of Grace Bay. Seclusion-level-up: a Long Bay villa.

💵 ON A BUDGET → Condo stays and small inns a short walk inland run a fraction of beachfront rates. The beach access points are free for everyone.

🤫 REPEAT VISITORS → Long Bay, Leeward, or the ferry to North Caicos. Empty beaches, zero crowds.

Biggest mistake we see: booking “cheap” far from everything, then spending the savings on taxis (they charge per person here!). A rental car changes everything.
