From our nation’s ports to rivers, oceans, and inland waterways, the maritime industry powers trade, supports jobs, and strengthens communities every day.

This National Maritime Day, we celebrate the resilience, skill, and service of those who work on and around the water. Thank you for all you do. 🌊⚓

Important day, important community!

Today, on the International Day for Women in Maritime, we celebrate the women shaping the future of the maritime industry through leadership, innovation, and expertise. ⚓

The International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) 2026 theme, “From Policy to Practice: Advancing Gender Equality for Maritime Excellence,” highlights the importance of turning commitments into action — creating more opportunities, strengthening inclusion, and building a more equitable maritime workforce for all.

We honor the contributions of women across the sector and support continued efforts to recruit, retain, and empower the next generation of maritime professionals.

To quote from the Book of Common Prayer, “none must, all (who are admitted) may, some do”… A great career path for those who feel called.

Cadets from the nation's Merchant Marine academies are finding lots of demand and great salaries because of a shortage of licensed mariners.
