Development stills. First chapter of a world we’re building for The Theater Dubai
One motif runs through all of it: the flute. It’s in the hammered bronze collar, the ring on the drummer’s hand, the ribs of the shell. Lock the object and the world starts to hold.
We lit it the way we’d shoot it. One warm source, mostly behind her, no fill. Contre-jour on the dunes, a single shaft from above in the cave, dusk for the shell. Skin keeps its pores, metal keeps its hammer marks, organza stays thin enough to catch light. The palette never leaves near-black, umber, amber and gold. Grain on every frame.
Then we play with scale. Tight on sand caught in the collar’s flutes. Wide on a wall of dust rolling in while she sits still. Wider still: a small figure on a ridge, and Venus crossing the sun.
AI is part of our toolkit and we’re open about it. But it has no taste of its own. Every frame here went through references, lighting decisions, wardrobe continuity, a lot of rejected versions and a final grade. The prompt is where the work starts.
More soon.
