12 years ago today, shop employee Jaclyn got married at the Vander Ende-Onderdonk House in Ridgewood and every bottle she served at the wedding was supplied from Henry’s! We don’t carry any of those bottles anymore, but if she got married again today, these would be the bottles she would have on hand. Novetat Total is an explosive Mallorcan w**e from Sistema Vinari, a project by Eloi Cedo. A blend of Callet and Manto Negro, macerated with skins and aged on the lees. Unfiltered, low S02, and the taste is berries, herbs, and brine. The acidity would do well with tomato-y pasta, as well as grilled meats and veggies!
I mean who doesn’t love a magnum of rosato? The Cantina Giardino is a blend of Aglianico, Barbera, and Piedirosso from Campania and the result is a flinty, full bodied and cherry-tinged glass of all-season pink juice.
This lovely and elevated Loire Valley blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay is yet another banger from Laurent Saillard. Sharp citrus and round pear fruit and great minerality.
A sassy fresh creamy and vibrant Ch*****ne from Chavot-Courcourt. Chavost is a tiny lil operation that makes some of the best no-S02 cuvées around. This one is 50% Chardonnay and 50% de Meunier, all first press and hand harvested. Celebration in a glass!
