Calanques National Park is a stunning swatch of rugged coastlines in France’s Bouches-du-Rhône area. It’s the only European national park that includes land, sea, and urban areas.

A popular way to enter the park is via the coastal town of Cassis. This historic fishing village, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, is a whole destination in and of itself. Have you ever been to the Center of the World? Yes, it’s a real place.

Well, at least it used to be.And the ever-developing world is slowly losing the sacredness of places that used to be.

Ancient Greece is still one of the few places where you can truly walk among history, seeing first-hand so many of the roots of modern civilization (and the origin stories of so many movies and books). And while there are resorts and modern wonders to visit, walking in ancient places has a way of transforming you.

Take a trip to Ancient Greece and see the Sanctuaries of Apollo and Athena (arguably the most important historical sites in Greece - and that’s saying a lot.) Walk through the complex of Meteora - monasteries literally sitting atop giant rock formations (you’ll want to spend a whole day here, trust us.) Read (or at least look at) ancient manuscripts and see Byzantine artifacts.
