We are hiring!

Our drivers just received another raise on July 4th, so we thought we would give an update to anyone thinking about coming and driving for us. See below with details of what it is like to work for us. We have OTR and local positions (home every night) available.

-OTR drivers averaged a gross of 98k last year, with a handful in the 105k-115k range. (this year will be higher due to the 3 cent per mile July 4th raise).

-Miles are paid from odometer, with stop, tarp, and layover paid on top of mileage pay.

-Paid W-2 and paid weekly with direct deposit.

-YOU tell us when you can leave and when you need to be back home. (most drivers leave sunday/monday and get home thursday-Saturday, taking their 34 restart at home unless you are on a west coast dispatch or want to be gone more than a week at a time)

-3rd generation truck driver/family owned and operated. Been in business since 1991.

-All Peterbilt 379s, 389s, and Kenworth W9s and 660s.

-Our customer base is all local to our area and we have been serving them for the last 15+ years

-paper log and Elog trucks available.

-2/3rds of dispatch has trucking experience.

-able to take truck/trailer home with you or leave it our Newland, NC or Kingsport,TN terminal

-Health, dental, and vision insurance. Blue Cross Blue Shield Health insurance is optional and we pay for 50% of the cost. Driver cost is roughly $98 per week but vision and dental is 100% covered. After 5 years, Health is covered 100%.

- 401k match plan after one year

-$1000 paid vacation after 1 year, 2 weeks after 5 years, and 3 weeks after 10 years.

-7 paid ($125 per day) holidays per year

-Christmas bonus, yearly safety bonus

-West coast optional

-oversized freight is extremely rare. ( a few outbound shipments may be wide or over length, but this happens maybe 5-10 times per year. Extra oversized pay is applied)

-we run all 48 but heavy in Houston,TX, Wisconsin/Chicago, Pennsylvania/Ohio, and southern California.

-leave out every week with a pre-loaded trailer.

-late model trailers and they stay completely stocked with everything needed to secure any load.

-all service and as much maintenance is done in house and all other major repairs are handled at local Kenworth/Caterpillar dealers. We try to minimize any on the road repairs.

-We are all flatbed, no van/reefer positions.

We were saddened to hear about the passing of one of our past employees, Kim Deyton. From what we've been told, Kim passed away from complications following a trucking accident he was involved in several weeks ago.

"Runaway" put in several years with us and it sounds like he wasn't any different in his time with Peterson as he was with us! Kim was an "Old School" driver through and through. He ran a VERY tight ship and you could always count on him to be where you asked him to be. He adored his family and we know his big personality will be missed by all.

Please keep his family and friends in your prayers in the coming days.
