OU SGA is a student association that comprises all students enrolled on the University of Oklahoma's Norman campus. We pursue any idea or program that improves the student experience at OU. Here are some of the things we do:
Advocacy Team: addresses student concerns on an individual basis
OU Votes: biannual voter registration drive in partnership with the Carl Albert Center
South Oval Office: m
onthly outreach event on the South Oval to solicit student ideas and concerns
Higher education lobbying: including Higher Education Day, Big XII on the Hill, and the forthcoming Stronger Oklahoma coalition
International student support: including greeting at the OKC airport, a re-gifting program, and the International Greek Exchange
Special community advocacy: supporting underrepresented groups such as student veterans and LGBTQ students
Student organization support: funding, technology resources, policy training, and management of the Conoco Student Leadership Center
Administrative council presence: ensuring a student voice on more than a dozen councils advising OU administration
Local and state government advocacy: having a presence at key meetings and engaging with elected officials
