🛴🚲 SKOOT THE BLOCK: RIDER SAFETY FAQ

Before you hit the road, take a minute to check out these tips for a safe and smooth ride!

❓ How old must I be to ride?
All riders must be 18 years of age or older.

❓ How fast do the scooters and e-bikes go?
Our scooters and e-bikes have a maximum speed of 15 mph. Always slow down near pedestrians, intersections, turns, and crowded areas.

❓ How do I learn to operate the scooter or e-bike?
Before starting your ride, refer to the “How to Ride” instructions in the Aniv App.

❓ Do I need to wear a helmet?
Yes! We strongly encourage every rider to wear a properly fitted helmet on every trip.

❓ Can two people ride together?
No. Only one person is allowed on each scooter or e-bike at a time.

❓ Where should I ride?
Use bike lanes whenever available and follow all local traffic laws. Do not ride on sidewalks where prohibited.

❓ Do I have to follow traffic signals?
Yes. Riders must obey traffic lights, stop signs, posted signs, and directions from law enforcement.

❓ Can I use my phone while riding?
No. Keep both hands available for steering and stop in a safe location before using your phone.

❓ Can I ride while wearing headphones?
Avoid wearing headphones, or keep the volume low enough to hear traffic, pedestrians, and emergency vehicles.

❓ Can I ride after drinking alcohol or using drugs?
Never. Riding while impaired is dangerous and strictly prohibited.

❓ What should I check before starting?
Check the brakes, tires, lights, throttle, handlebars, and overall condition of the vehicle. If something doesn’t feel right, choose another vehicle and report the issue.

❓ How should I ride around pedestrians?
Slow down, give pedestrians the right of way, leave plenty of space, and use extra caution near children, seniors, driveways, and crosswalks.

❓ How should I park?
Park upright in an approved location without blocking sidewalks, ramps, entrances, driveways, bus stops, or pedestrian pathways.

❓ What if the scooter or e-bike is damaged?
Do not ride it. Report the issue through the Aniv App so our team can inspect the vehicle.

❓ What should I do in an emergency?
Move to a safe location and call 911 if anyone is injured or there is an immediate danger. Report the incident to Skoot the Block as soon as possible.

Remember, everyone using e-bikes, e-scooters, bicycles, and other micromobility devices should always ride safely, stay alert, and use caution on the road.
