WE’RE HIRING!

Cycles of Change is looking for an Internship Coordinator (part-time) to help lead our youth internship programs!

You’ll help young people in Oakland level up their skills in:

- Bike mechanics
- Navigating the Bay by bike + transit
- Leadership skills
- Community bike shop life

Cycles is committed to an inclusive, equitable workplace. We especially encourage folks who are historically underrepresented in the bike industry and nonprofit sector (people of color, women, LGBTQ+ folks, people with disabilities, and people from working-class backgrounds) to apply.

Move over Better Business Bureau! The only BBB we care about is Birds, Burritos, and Bikes!

Our last bike ride with the East Bay Regional Park District is just around the corner, and you’re not going to want to miss this one. Join us for an all-ages community ride on August 15 from Fruitvale BART to Arrowhead Marsh. Meet at 10 am, rollout at 11 am.

This ride features free repairs at Fruitvale BART from 10-11 am, free repair kit giveaway to riders under 21, free burritos, and a guided birding activity from a naturalist in the Cycles community!

What do you want the East Bay Parks to look like in ten years? 🤔💭 We will ride together, enjoy some majestic birds, eat tasty burritos, and give feedback for the EBRPD District plan. We are so excited for this event and hope you are too.

Bring yourself, a friend, and binoculars if you have them. Feel free to DM us or email [email protected] with any questions. RSVP link in the bio. If you made it this far, drop your favorite bird emoji in the comments! 🐣

Do you feel your hard work is underappreciated? Do you thanklessly perform the majority of key tasks for your hive? Are you responsible for approximately 80% of the world’s crop pollination? You might be a worker bee!

To celebrate our Save The B’s campaign, we are learning about the different roles of bees in the hive, and comparing them to the different types of bikes out there.

We think that commuter bikes are the worker bees of the bike world. Commuter bikes are there for us on a daily basis, working hard to make sure we get to important places and things. It’s easy to take them for granted until they’re gone and there’s worldwide crop failure or you can’t get to work on time.

We wanna share some love for all the worker bees and commuter bikes out there. We see you and we appreciate you! Here’s a beautiful Van Dessel from the Bikery all dressed up for the beehive tour on Sunday. This bike is perfect for commuting with moustache bars, internal gearing, and a front disc brake.

These bee roles also correspond with different sustainer levels, reminding us that when we lean into our strengths and come together for the sake of the hive, something sweet and nourishing is made. Sign up to be a sustainer, and join our beehive tour on April 19th!
