The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the logistics of our company's transportation-related activities. In this role, you will be keeping track of transportation operations and ensuring that all policies, procedures, and safety rules are documented and followed.

The successful candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills and maintain the company's high standard of customer service. Ultimately, a top-notch transportation manager should be able to display extensive knowledge of transportation management systems and have excellent analytical skills.

KEY TASKS:

• Maintain and build a loyal customer base by providing an exceptional customer experience.
• Act as point of contact for scheduling, invoicing, contracts, and other customer related needs.
• Collaborate directly with Boat Dealers, Marina Managers and Boat Owners to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Accounts payable/ receivable, including maintaining company budget and completion of payroll.
• Ensure vehicles are in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations including wide load operations.
• Direct strategy related to dispatching, routing, and tracking of vehicles, including but not limited to obtaining state required permits and escorting services for wide load hauls.
• Tracking routine maintenance and repairs of transportation vehicles and trailers.
• Track and manage mileage logs, fuel, and other business-related expenses.

Required Skills

• Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Adobe, and Date entry skills required.
• Must have experience with transportation and logistics.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in business management.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Self-motivated with the ability to handle multiple, competing priorities, meet deadlines, manage risk, and deal with problems.
• Detail-oriented and process driven approach to work.
• Builds a positive team environment.

Job Type: Full time
-Boat hauling experience preferred but not required.
-Starting salary based upon experience.

With a combined 50 years experience in the marine industry, Sound Marine Transport is run by father and son duo John and Johnny McCarthy. Johnny’s girlfriend Kate handles scheduling, permitting and escorting oversized loads.
