Woodland Creek Honey Farm At Woodland Creek Honey Farm, we are dedicated to doing our part of caring for creation, by practicing environmentally friendly, sustainable beekeeping.

We love our bees and all of our apiaries are chemical-free and treated naturally. We love talking about bees and beekeeping! As a Master Beekeeper (U of Montana) we appreciate both learning from other beekeepers, as well as helping others learn about bees and the critical part they play in our world. We also value giving back and helping those in underserved parts of the world. So 40% of all sales

are donated to Living Water International to help provide clean drinking water for people in need. Please reach out if you have any questions, want to talk bees and beekeeping, or if you are interested in buying some of our honey. Our honey and honeycomb are available for sale locally, and shipping is available. To buy honey, simply place your order and let us know when you’d like to pick it and we’ll do our best to accommodate you!

🐝 Let's Work Together to Protect Our Pollinators! 🌼

Please consider avoiding toxic pesticides, herbicides, and other chemicals in your gardens and landscapes. If you do need to use them, choose pollinator-friendly products whenever possible and apply them at times when pollinators are not active.

Honey bees, native bees, butterflies, and other pollinators do most of their work during daylight hours. A single honey bee may travel 3–5 miles in search of nectar, pollen, and water. When she returns to the hive, she shares what she has collected with thousands of other bees. Unfortunately, if those resources contain pesticides or herbicides, the contamination can quickly spread throughout the colony.

Applying pesticides during the early morning or daytime places pollinators at the greatest risk because that is when they are actively foraging. A late afternoon or evening application is a much safer option. Most pollinators have stopped flying by then, allowing the product to dry or be absorbed overnight before bees return to forage the next day.

Sadly, less than 24 hours ago, the hive pictured below was a strong, thriving colony. Today it is gone.

This isn't just the loss of a few bees. It is the loss of an entire colony that played an important role in pollinating our community and supporting our small business. The financial impact is significant, but even more heartbreaking is the loss of thousands of living creatures that were healthy and productive just yesterday.

Because we are committed to producing safe, high-quality honey, we can no longer use this hive. The woodenware and wax must be destroyed to eliminate any possibility of contaminating future colonies or honey products.

We all share responsibility for the health of our pollinators. By making thoughtful choices about when and how we use pesticides, we can help protect the bees and other pollinators that are essential to our gardens, farms, and food supply.
