Planning a Disney trip for the first time can feel like learning a new language.

Here's how I break it down:
📆 When to go: Avoid summer for the heat and holidays for the crowds. September, early December, and January through early March are some of my favorite times for first timers.

⏰ How long to stay: At least 5 days. Disney is not a weekend trip. You need time to breathe and actually enjoy it.

🏨Where to stay: On-site, always. Especially your first time. The convenience alone is worth it. I typically recommend Deluxe resorts for first timers because of how close they are to the parks — but if budget is a concern, Moderate resorts are a great middle ground.

🏰Which parks and when:There's actual strategy behind this and most people don't realize it. The day of the week matters. Park hours matter. Local crowd patterns matter — EPCOT on a Friday or Saturday hits differently than a Tuesday. Lightning Lane availability factors in too. The order I recommend is intentional, not random.

⚡️Lightning Lane: Know which ones to prioritize and book them the moment your window opens. On-site guests to book 7 days before arriving. Off-site guests get only 3 days before. That difference alone is a reason to stay on property.

There's a lot that goes into a Disney trip done right. This is just the starting point.
