Happy Aviation Maintenance Technician Day to our favorite A&Ps! Flying wouldn't be possible without our airplane mechanics. Thanks to Jason, Lloyd, and Chris for keeping us safely in the air!

Aviation Maintenance Technician Day is a United States day of recognition, observed on May 24, that recognizes the efforts of aviation maintenance professionals as well as the achievements of Charles Edward Taylor, the man who built the engine used to power the airplane of the Wright Brothers. The date May 24 was selected to honor the birth date of Taylor. The day of recognition is currently observed by 45 states in the United States. On May 24, 2007, a United States House of Representatives resolution supporting the goals and ideals of a National Aviation Maintenance Technician Day was introduced. Congressman Bob Filner of California was the sponsor of the resolution. On April 30, 2008 the resolution passed by a voice vote.

Big changes are happening at Schultz Aviation, and we're switching gears a bit! First, we'd like to thank everyone who has supported us to this point. More people than we anticipated wanted to pursue flight training with us, and we've been so excited to introduce people to the world of aviation and help them pursue their dream of obtaining a pilot license. We will continue to offer flight training, but in a more limited capacity and only in the Cessna 150 or owner-supplied aircraft. The Cherokee 140 was the airplane that we started Schultz Aviation with two years ago, but it has found a new home with an aspiring aviator.
Now the exciting news! The opportunity presented itself for us to assume ownership of the maintenance business Jason has been working at for the past 5 years! We are thrilled to announce that Schultz Aviation is now your go-to for airplane maintenance at KOPL (St Landry Parish Airport, Ahart Field, Opelousas, LA)! 'emintheair

Congratulations to Michael Lemoine - he's got a brand new private pilot license in his pocket! He's had a few delays along the way due to life, but he stuck with it and accomplished his goal! Great Job Michael!!

It's been a long cold winter, but now that it's warming up, it's time to fly! We love flying to new (and old) destinations, and is one of our favorites! Beer at is some of the best - outstanding in a great atmosphere. hotel is THE place to stay - all the rooms have waterfront views of the river and bay - we saw manatees and bald eagles this trip! The sunrise view can't be beat!
Hopefully we'll be back again soon and will be able to spend more time on
