Before and after pictures of where 6 new T Hangers will be constructed. The buildings that were demolished date back to the 1940’s when Orange was expanded as a backup airstrip for the U.S. Army Air Corps Westover Base during WWII. Shout out to Associated Building Wreckers of Springfield MA for the seamless removal.

While Orange Fire EMS and Life Star Med Flight were providing patient care, a Embraer Phenon 300 jet arrived to pick up passengers. Just starting their day at the same time was Associated Building Wreckers of Springfield MA. Who are demolishing condemned buildings to make way for new hangers. Quite a start to our day.

If you heard the drone of radial engines over Orange this morning at about 10:00 AM it was FIFI a World War II Boeing B-29 Superfortress. 1 of 2 still flying. It is owned by the Commerorative Air Force. It landed at Westfield Airport.

What a beautiful day to fly around the North Quabbin area in an open cockpit Boeing Stearman biplane.

What is this monstrosity ? Certainly not an airplane engine. Learn more about this old engine and more the weekend of June 27th and 28th. Located on the front field of the Orange Ma. Municipal Airport. Fly in, drive in and see this and more old steam engines and tractors from back in the day. Tractor pull, tractor parade, food vendors and more.

We were paid a visit today by a North American T-28. There 1,948 built between 1950 - 1957. The U.S. Air Force and Navy flew them as well as the Marines. Top speed was 343mph. Another beautiful day to fly around the North Quabbin area.
