It started as a service that picked up & delivered goods in the late 1800's in the Chicago area. ucking Company began their successful journey as a local cartage carrier. Using "semi's" to haul goods had created a boom in the trucking industry. By 1943, John J. Cushing Trucking had survived the Great Depression and remained a leader in local transportation. A young man, by the name of John R. Pacella, took a job as one of their truck drivers. A hard worker and charismatic by nature, Mr. Pacella's steadfast disposition led him into an opportunity to purchase the John. Cushing Trucking Company. In 1967, Mr. Pacella commenced his investment into Cushing Trucking by paving the way for it's future success. He is credited for preserving and expanding Cushing Trans. His endless appetite for progress was fueled not only by the truck business, but by his affection for his family. Pacella will forever be remembered as a family man and charitable individual. The company has remained a family business and currently operates out of Orland Park, Illinois by two of his grandsons. The company's growth and continual service is based off of Mr. John R. Pacella's enthusiastic character.
