For the overwhelmed mom trying to plan the “perfect” trip for everyone else while secretly wondering if it’s even worth the stress…

I want you to know travel doesn’t have to feel overwhelming to be meaningful.

You don’t have to do everything. You don’t need the perfect itinerary. Your kids probably won’t remember whether every detail went exactly as planned. They’ll remember how it felt to be together.

Sometimes the most meaningful trips are the ones where you finally slow down enough to actually enjoy the people you’re with 🥰

Some of the best memories of my life have happened while traveling: with my family, with my closest friends, and in moments I still think about years later.

There’s something special about getting away from everyday life and just being present together. Whether it’s a family trip, a girls trip, or exploring somewhere new, travel has a way of bringing people closer.

Some of my favorite memories are the simple ones: airport mornings, laughing until we cry at dinner, late-night talks back at the hotel, walking through a new city, hearing my kids laugh, or ending the day completely exhausted but so happy.

I love beautiful destinations, but what I really love is what travel creates for people. Connection. Joy. Memories. Time together that feels different from normal life.

That’s why this work means so much to me 🥰

Luxury doesn’t always mean more. Sometimes it means slower ✨

A slower morning.
A longer dinner.
An extra day in one beautiful place instead of rushing through five.

The trips that feel the most luxurious are usually the ones that leave room to breathe.

What’s one thing you’d slow down and savor on your next vacation?

I spent this week at the ASTA (American Society of Travel Advisors) conference and wow… my brain is full 😂

I learned so much this week. Not just from the sessions, but from conversations with other advisors, hearing different perspectives, and being around people who genuinely care about creating great travel experiences.

I left feeling really inspired, really motivated, and honestly just grateful that this is something I get to do.

Now excuse me while I attempt to unpack, catch up on sleep, and process everything I wrote down this week 😅

If your Pinterest boards could turn into plane tickets instantly… where would you be going first?

Right now I’m loving:
🤍 Coastal Portugal
🏰 Scotland in the fall
🌊 The Greek islands
🍷 Southern France

Your turn, what destination are you currently dreaming about?

Can we please normalize the fact that travel advisors charging planning fees is not a “red flag”?! 🥲

I totally understand why it feels unfamiliar if you’ve only worked with advisors who were commission-based, but the travel industry has changed a LOT over the years.

Many advisors now charge planning fees because the actual work starts long before anything is booked. And if you're an advisor who doesn't charge a planning fee, that's fine because it's YOUR business model. Please don't say anything negatively about those of us that do charge. Also, please stop saying you're "free" to "use", because your time isn't free and you shouldn't be used. We are professionals and we are hired to work with our clients. (I use to think the same, so I get it).

Anyway, research, itinerary design, comparing options, supplier coordination, troubleshooting, recommendations, revisions, answering questions, and making sure every detail flows smoothly. All of that takes hours of time, experience, and care.

Travel advisors are business owners just like any other service-based professional. We have monthly business expenses to keep our businesses running. CRM systems, trainings, certifications, website fees, marketing, insurance, subscriptions, host agency fees, and more. You wouldn’t sit in a hairstylist’s chair and say, “Well you make commission on the shampoo you sell, so I shouldn’t have to pay for my haircut.” They have their monthly dues to keep their business running a well.

The commission advisors receive AFTER you travel is basically a thank you from the supplier for recommending them, not payment for the actual planning work and expertise provided beforehand. And honestly, sometimes those commissions can end up being pennies compared to the amount of time and care poured into your trip.

I’m actually at the ASTA (American Society of Travel Advisors) Conference right now in San Diego, and one of the BIGGEST conversations happening in the industry is how important it is for advisors to confidently charge professional planning fees for our time and expertise. This really is becoming the standard, especially in custom travel planning, instead of relying solely on commissions.

Planning fees allow advisors to give you more attention, better service, and more personalized support because they’re being compensated for the actual work they do behind the scenes.

Just some perspective because I think a lot of people genuinely don’t realize how much happens behind the scenes in this industry. You are MORE than just a booking! 🥰

Lastly, my inbox is open to any travel advisors that would like to discuss their business model. I love to empower and make sure you know your worth! Community over competition, always ♥️

The most unforgettable travel moments are usually the ones you never could’ve planned perfectly 🥰

It’s getting lost down a quiet street and finding the best little café.
It’s hearing live music spill out into the plaza at night.
It’s the feeling of realizing you’re completely present for the first time in months.

That’s what immersive travel means to me. Not just seeing a destination, but actually experiencing it.

We made a wrong turn in Milan and found a hidden pedestrian street and had no idea they existed. It was so nice to be immersed like a local.

What’s the most unexpectedly magical moment you’ve had while traveling?

Would you rather:

🍷 Spend a week wine tasting through the French countryside
OR
🌊 Stay in a luxury seaside villa in Greece?

Both sound like the kind of trip that completely resets your soul.

Which one are you choosing?

There’s a tiny island in Greece where cars are almost completely banned!

On Hydra Island, people mainly get around by walking, bicycles, or donkeys, which is part of what makes it feel so peaceful and timeless.

That really sounds kind of dreamy right now. It's just like Zermatt in Switzerland! Except there, there are only small vehicles. You can't bring in your own.

Could you spend a week somewhere without driving?

One of my favorite parts of travel is how certain places become tied to specific memories forever 🥰

A café you still think about years later. A city that surprised you. A conversation over dinner that somehow changed everything.

The best trips aren’t just about checking destinations off a list, they become part of your story.

I will always think about the little cafe in Paris where we had crepes and slowed down for a little bit in the alley.

What’s a travel memory you’ll never forget?
