If you’re flying in the next several days, arrive at the airport at least 3 hours early.

Airports across the country are dealing with TSA staffing shortages, and some are reporting security wait times of 2+ hours. Even if you usually get through quickly, give yourself extra time so your trip doesn’t start with unnecessary stress.

This applies whether you’re flying out of Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport or any other airport.

UK Travel Update 🇬🇧
Starts February 25, 2026

If you’re heading to the United Kingdom, this is important!

Beginning today (February 25), airlines, ferry companies, and rail carriers are required to verify that travelers have a valid UK Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before boarding when applicable.

If you’re traveling from a visa-exempt country (including the U.S., Canada, Australia, and EU/Schengen countries), you’ll need an approved ETA prior to departure. It must be digitally linked to your passport, and yes, this includes every traveler, even babies and children.

⚠️ No valid ETA = denied boarding.

This is not a visa. It’s a digital pre-travel authorization. While approvals are often quick, officials recommend applying at least three business days in advance.

How special is this one? 🥹✨

I’ve had the absolute joy of watching this sweet girl grow up to celebrating her HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION! 🎓 And now I get to help plan a celebration trip to the beautiful Disney’s BoardWalk Inn to mark this huge milestone.

Her mom and I have been friends since our college days, so this one just feels extra full-circle. From late-night chats and big dreams of our own… to now cheering on our kids as they reach theirs. 💙

There is something so meaningful about helping families celebrate life’s biggest moments, not just vacations, but memories that mark a season. This one is going to be so special.

I know some of you are seeing headlines about unrest in parts of Mexico and wondering what that means for trips to Cancun and the Riviera Maya. 🇲🇽🌴

Here’s the perspective that matters:

Mexico is a large country made up of very different regions. The recent reports have centered on areas along the Pacific coast in states like Sinaloa and Guerrero which are on the opposite side of the country from the Caribbean resort areas.

Popular destinations like Cancún, Playa del Carmen, and the Riviera Maya are located in the state of Quintana Roo on Mexico’s eastern coast. These areas continue to welcome visitors and operate as usual, with established tourism infrastructure and visible security presence in hotel zones and resort corridors.

I always encourage my clients to enroll in the U.S. State Department’s STEP program (Smart Traveler Enrollment Program). It’s a free service that allows U.S. citizens to register their trip and receive travel advisories and updates directly from the State Department while abroad. It also helps the U.S. Embassy contact you in case of an emergency.

📢 Travel Update: TSA PreCheck & Global Entry Pause

New enrollments for TSA PreCheck and Global Entry are temporarily paused due to a partial agency shutdown.

Here’s what that means:
✈️ If you’re already approved, your benefits are still active.
✈️ Flights and TSA checkpoints are operating as normal.
✈️ This only affects new applications and interview scheduling for now.

⌚️Be sure to allow a little extra time at the airport, especially if you don’t already have PreCheck, just in case lines are longer than usual.

🌎 Traveling internationally? The free Mobile Passport Control (MPC) app can help speed up your return through U.S. Customs at many airports and cruise ports.
