Participating airlines now include:

✈️ American Airlines
✈️ United Airlines

Eligible guests staying at select Disney Resorts Collection hotels and traveling on eligible domestic flights through Orlando International Airport (MCO) can have their checked luggage transferred between the airport and their Disney Resort hotel.

Ever step onto the famous rainbow neon walkway at O’Hare and feel like you’re secretly boarding an EPCOT dark ride? Turns out, that Disney vibe isn’t just your imagination! ✈️✨
Back in the mid-1980s, United Airlines was in serious negotiations to become the official airline of Walt Disney World and Disneyland. While building the iconic underground tunnel connecting Concourses B and C in Terminal 1, United teamed up with Walt Disney Imagineering to bring some serious theme park magic to Chicago.
The original concept was wildly ambitious: Imagineers were slated to design full, 3D Disney-themed scenic vignettes along the walls to entertain travelers as they glided past on the moving walkways (think classic Tomorrowland dark-ride style!).
Even cooler? The 744-foot kinetic neon ceiling, titled The Sky’s The Limit, was created by artist Michael Hayden—the very same genius behind EPCOT’s legendary, retro Rainbow Tunnel in the original ImageWorks pavilion! 🌈
So, what happened to the Disney magic?
The official airline partnership fell through when Delta swooped in with a winning bid instead. Once the Disney deal was off the table, the elaborate scenic wall displays were scrapped. The frosted, softly glowing backlit panels lining the tunnel today were actually installed to cover the spaces where those Imagineering scenes were supposed to live!
United kept Hayden’s dazzling neon waves and paired them with that dreamy synth arrangement of Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue—giving us an airport stroll that still feels delightfully retro-EPCOT to this day. 🎶💫
