Wondering what the Oxford Main Street Project is all about? This feasibility study is investigating the potential for bicycle and transit improvements along Route 67 in the Town of Oxford as it fundamentally serves as Oxford’s “Main Street” and currently has no sidewalk or safe bicycle or pedestrian access. Traffic speeds are excessive and there are no visual cues alerting motorists that they are driving through an area where they may encounter walkers or bicyclists.
This project will result in the drafting of a report that:
- assesses existing transportation, land use and traffic conditions;
- identifies and details potential bicycle and pedestrian routes and improvements as well as transit enhancement solutions;
- provides conceptual designs and construction cost estimates; and
- prioritizes or phases implementation efforts.
