Doc’s Sunset Grille had a large group of boats from the western shore come in for lunch this afternoon. Here are just a few of the boats - probably 10 or more. The boaters had the staff hopping but it was a beautiful day to be there!

So glad someone renovated this church and maintains it. Many activities happen there each year.

The Oxford Museum, in partnership with the Oxford Community Center, is cooking up another evening to celebrate the 250th year of our country. We are bringing cookbook author and historian Joyce M. White to speak about food in the Colonial days. You’ll likely get hungry, so in addition, a food tasting is included: a buffet from the time prepared by Momma Maria’s. There will also be a cash bar with historic cordials.

Joyce White is a food historian, educator, and consultant specializing in historic foodways and material culture. Her passion for food history began in the late 1980s while she was a museum education intern at the Geneva Historical Society’s Rose Hill Mansion in New York’s Finger Lakes region. There, she first brought history to life in the kitchen, portraying an 1840s kitchen maid and cooking period recipes—often alongside every fourth-grade class in the county.
