It’s not uncommon this time of year to spot a baby squirrel on the ground. While your first instinct might be to scoop it up, here’s the safest approach:

• Look for the nest – If it’s safe, try to see if you can locate the nest or the mother nearby. Sometimes mama squirrels will come back for their little ones.
