The Monaco Yacht Show turns 35 this year. It remains the one week the entire superyacht industry gathers in a single harbour.
From 23 to 26 September, Port Hercule fills with around 150 superyachts, more than 40 of them making their world debut, alongside 560 exhibitors and roughly 30,000 visitors. It is still the only place on earth where you can see this many 50-metre-plus yachts for sale at once.
Nixie, the 102-metre Lürssen whose pearlescent hull actually shifts colour with the light and one of the largest beach clubs Lürssen has ever built at 270 square metres.
Angelique, an 88-metre flagship and the largest yacht Turquoise Yachts has ever built, drawn inside and out by H2 Yacht Design and launched from their yard in Istanbul.
Riva 54Metri, at nearly 55 metres the largest Riva in its 180-year history, with a pool amidships and bulwarks that fold right out to open the deck to the sea.
There is far more to it than the boats. The Adventure Area fills whole quays with tenders, toys, cars and helicopters.
The Blue Wake showcase is given over to cleaner propulsion and refit materials.
The Design and Innovation Hub runs live sessions with the people actually drawing these yachts.
Wednesday is invitation only. The public days are Thursday to Saturday, doors open from 10:00am.
For 4 days each September, nowhere on earth puts this much design, wealth and ambition on the water at once. Save this if Monaco is on your list.
