Vinni’s Jeep Old Man, Old Jeep Wrangler, 8000 miles, 35 National Parks. Will the Jeep make it! Will I make it! I though I had better update this.

I visited 33 National Parks over 4 months and I did 18,215 miles! The Jeep was amazing and I kissed it every day.

We must protect our waterways from pollution.

We just found out that the Boundary Waters could be reopened to mining with a simple vote in Congress – and that vote could happen any day.

The Boundary Waters is one of our most visited wildernesses, a pristine landscape of lakes, streams, old growth pines, and wildlife habitat. Opening up this wild, one-of-a-kind area to heavy metal pollution and toxic mining runoff would be a mistake we could never undo.

We need your voice. Join our call to protect the Boundary Waters from toxic mining by sending a message to your representative today: https://environmentamerica.org/take-action/protect-the-boundary-waters/?tag=reference:AME4-FCNS%3ASPECPLCCNS%3ABOUNDARYWAT-0126%2BWEB%3A02L%3A0HH-LLE%20AME%20Boundary%20Waters%20Rapid%20Response%20Action%20Socia

My wife was gone for 3 weeks over Thanksgiving and I haven’t yet visited the 3 National Parks in Florida, Everglades, Biscayne and Dry Tortugas and my rejuvenated Vinni’s Jeep was rearing to go! So off we went Tuesday evening. I drove through Tuesday night to Everglades NP and slept in the car park. Wednesday morning I visited Biscayne NP and then I drove to Key West. Parking is expensive but driving around the back streets I found a road with a parking spot and slept there that night. You can fly or take the boat Freedom to the Dry Tortugas. Flying was totally booked out and there only 3 places open on the boat for Thursday 7am. It’s 2.5 hours each way with 3 hours on the island. The boat which takes 165 people was $250 I got it for $225 so you can imagine how much the seaplane was! They did supply breakfast and a sub for lunch and snorkeling equipment. Also cheap cocktails and beer on the trip back! The weather was perfect and the island and Fort Jefferson spectacular. The beaches around the fort are wonderful but once again what really made the trip were the lovely people I met on board. It was another day I will never forget.
I also had a great evening in Key West!

Last night I picked up Vinni’s Jeep from intensive care! After 4 months, 18,250 miles and 33 National Parks visited. It came home with a bunch of mechanical problems thankfully nothing terminal! Four months later and 1 month in intensive care Paulo my mechanic has worked miracles and healed my Jeep! Fifteen hundred dollars well spent and a new windshield she is now ready for next year’s adventures! Hudson and Rupert were very pleased to be back in the Jeep and I was so happy driving it!

Here is the museum and shop just outside the entrance to Petrified Forest National Park. I was surprised by how much petrified rock was in the National Park. The polished rock is beautiful but I was astonished at the cost of the cut and polished rock. They have enough supplies for the next 1000 years. You can buy the rock much cheaper in it's raw state. It is not lawful to take any rock from the park but the park actually sells small pots for $7.50.

Petrified Forest National Park Arizona was my 5th NP on Vinni's Jeep great adventure.

Saguaro West National Park AZ was my 3rd NP and I stayed at my first campsite Camp Saguaro which I would highly recommend. It was just outside Tucson and very close to the park entrance. I alternated on my 4 month National Park adventure between Boondocking and campsites depending on necessity and availability. If I wanted the peace and tranquility or social interaction with hot showers, laundry and meeting dogs!
