🐶❤️ Fate brought this lost dog safely back home to her family!
A series of unlikely circumstances brought together Delivery Associate Charlie, Dispatcher Gina, and a pet shelter employee who happened to live nearby to reunite a lost dog with her family.🐶🏠
Blink Delivery Associate Charlie was scheduled as an in-person backup, but a 📞 callout put her on route in the right place at the right time. ✅
While making a delivery, Charlie spotted a dog wandering through the neighborhood. She, being an animal lover, said 👋 hello, and the dog immediately ran toward her.
Charlie asked the customer and several neighbors if they recognized the dog, but no one did.
“She didn’t belong to anybody in the neighborhood, and I asked multiple people,” Charlie said. “I was working with dispatch, and Gina was helping me out.”
Dispatcher Gina gave Charlie the phone number for the Humane Society, and they told her it would take more than an hour to send someone to pick up the dog. ‼️⏰ Since Charlie still had a route to complete, Dispatcher Gina began searching for another solution.
“I checked Charlie’s location and realized she was only a few minutes from my sister,” Gina said. “So I called to see if she was home.”
Once again, the timing worked in their favor. 🙌 Gina’s sister works at a pet shelter and was home, so Gina arranged for her to meet Charlie and take the dog to the Humane Society.
There, staff scanned the dog’s microchip, learned her name was Cookie, and contacted her family. Cookie was finally going home! 🏡🐾
For Charlie, stopping to help was an easy decision. 💪
“I always think about what if that was my dog running around, or my friend’s dog running around,” Charlie said. “I would like to have them be brought back home.”
The rescue also highlighted the adaptability required of 👉 Blink’s Dispatchers. Gina relied on her experience, her connections, and a little creative problem-solving to find a solution when the original plan would not work.
“You’ve got to be ready to have the full alphabet of plans and sew them all together into whatever works,” Gina said. “When it works out like this, it’s very rewarding.”
Thanks to Charlie’s compassion, Gina’s quick thinking, and Gina’s sister’s willingness to help, Cookie’s unexpected journey ended exactly where it belonged: safely back home with her family. ❤️
