We are proud to be the largest seaport in Mississippi and rank nationally in the top 25 ports in foreign cargo volume. The mission of the Jackson County Port Authority is to acquire, develop and manage assets as necessary to build and sustain a world-class, multi use industrial port; and to encourage and support industrial and private industry in Jackson County.

Strong partnerships keep Mississippi moving! 🚂 🚢

Port Pascagoula was proud to join Mississippi Export Railroad (MSE) last week for a special rail excursion featuring Federal Railroad Administrator David Fink, U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith, Congressman Mike Ezell, and state and local leaders.

The event highlighted the vital role rail partnerships play in connecting industries, strengthening supply chains, and driving economic growth across Jackson County and Mississippi.

We value our longstanding partnership with MSE and look forward to continued collaboration, new opportunities, and shared success!

Keeping up with innovation in water and wastewater treatment! 💧

Jackson County Industrial Water Facility Superintendent Aaron White recently attended WEFTEC 2026 alongside team members Davis Adams and Mitchell Luke.

The team connected with vendors and explored new technologies in filtration, pipeline inspection, instrumentation and water treatment. A highlight of the conference was seeing one of our own AquaDisk® filters featured in Aqua-Aerobic Systems’ display!

Port Pascagoula proudly supports opportunities for our staff to represent Jackson County while strengthening industry connections and exploring innovative solutions that help us better serve our facilities and customers.

Port Pascagoula enjoyed being in Houston last week, connecting with industry partners and engaging with students and future maritime professionals.

𝘿𝙞𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙮 𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙥𝙞𝙡𝙤𝙩𝙨, 𝙩𝙤𝙤? 🚢⚓

In the maritime industry, a pilot is a highly trained local mariner who boards a vessel and helps guide it safely through a specific waterway and into or out of port.

And here’s a fun fact: maritime pilots came first! The word pilot was used at sea centuries before aviation, referring to an expert who guides vessels through difficult or unfamiliar waters.

At Port Pascagoula, our local Pascagoula Bar Pilots use their specialized knowledge of our channels, depths, tides, currents and vessel traffic to help vessels safely navigate between Port Pascagoula and the Gulf. They work alongside the ship’s captain and crew to help vessels safely navigate between the Port and the Gulf.
