Yes, after 27 years of building and administering the website, I'm pleased, and proud, that Lyndsay wants to keep it in the family. She'll maintain a much larger social media presence than this old geezer and she plans to give it a much-needed facelift. She'll administer the horse motels in the United States and I'll continue to try to promote the international side of the site. These are exciting times for us.

3/29/26 - My first post in a very long time. Back in France, still trying to introduce my website to Europe. Lots of challenges between the language barrier, transportation problems with my U.S. driver's license, and online communication. It's been an interesting challenge.

9/15/22 – 12/1/22 – Another trip to Sancerre, France to continue the web site promotion. Four weeks in French school is a drop in the bucket compared to the time needed to speak the language well enough to communicate with horse motel owners.

No classroom sessions this time but some one-on-one sessions with one of the instructors, Louis Chartrand, the son of the husband-and-wife team that own the school, Coeur de France. Louis read over the French version of my web site to make sure that what Google Translate and Reverso came up with is accurate.

The French version of my site is complete and is on-line. The next step is to send out e-mails to as many horse owners in Europe as possible to see if they wish to accommodate overnight guests traveling with their horses. Time will tell if horse motels in Europe will be as popular as in the United States.

No horse motels in Europe have been visited due to transportation costs and the language barrier but, hopefully, both situations will be resolved in future trips. A few photos of the beautiful area of Sancerre are included with this post. Photos of horse facilities will be posted as they are visited in the future.

11/16/21 - "On a tous toujours quelque chose à apprendre"
Starting week two. It feels like being back in elementary school again, struggling with vocabulary, conjugation, sentence structure, etc. What an awesome establishment and staff. Visiting Sancerre, and the surrounding area, is like stepping back 50 years in time. The area is incredibly beautiful and the residents have welcomed us students with smiles, and cordiality (and patience with our struggles to communicate with them).

11/3/21 – The web site administrator embarked on a web site promotional trip to Europe on this day. The goal is to attend a French language immersion course for 4 weeks, or more, visit the handful of horse motels listed in Europe, and to try to increase the presence of horsemotel.com in the area. Had a grueling but great start to a business/educational/ recreational endeavor.
Visits to horse properties will begin after school. The school (so the administrator can talk about horse motels to the locals, most of which speak no English, in French) is in the tiny village of Sancerre, in the heart of famous French wine country.

3/5/21 - The last stop for the day was at Salter Farms in Mobile, Alabama. www.horsemotel.com/Alabama.html
Rosalyn Salter, the owner, was very personable and took time from her chores to show me her place. What a great facility. The grounds are neatly groomed and tidy, even after all the rain the area has had lately. The barn stalls are huge and solidly built. She has unique lodging for humans without living quarters in the form of a building with 4 separate rooms available for her guests. They are motel-style with their own private entrances, a ‘frig, a microwave oven, and their own private bathrooms, and it’s right beside the barn. Her facility is within about 10 minutes from I-10 on nice, easily navigable roads. If you stay with Rosalyn, you will surely be pleased.

Mary Parrish, the owner. was very hospitable and kind enough to take time from her chores to show me her place. What a great facility. The grounds are neatly groomed and tidy, even after all the rain the area has had lately. The structures are solidly built and safe for horses. Her listing says it all and her facility will appeal to the most discerning of tastes. Her facility is within easy access to I-10 but in a quiet location. If you stay with Mary, you won't be disappointed.

3/5/21 - First visit of the day was K and C Stables in Pass Christian, Mississippi. www.horsemotel.com/Mississippi.html I was in the area and called at the last minute to set up a visit and the owner was just headed out the door to go pick up a horse so I didn’t get to meet him but he allowed me to roam the property and visit with his helper. I enjoyed the chance to get acquainted with the facility.

3/3/21 – Next on the trip was the 2 Lazy 2 Stables, LLC, in Walker Louisiana www.horsemotel.com/Louisiana.html Tracie had to work in town so couldn’t meet me but I was able to see plenty from the road. The front gate certainly makes a good first impression and is representative of the beauty of the rest of her property. Her listing says it all and is accurate. Her place is easy to get to from Interstate 10 and is a beautiful facility. If you stay here, you surely won’t be disappointed.

3/3/21 - Onward to Sommerview Farms in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana www.horsemotel.com/Louisiana.html Another great visit with Sid Fremen, the owner. Sid just bought the place a year ago and the work he’s done since then is amazing. He has box stalls and paddocks available for horses and a bunkhouse right beside the horses for humans. Plans for a 20 horse barn are in the works so keep an eye on updates to his listing as time goes by. His place is convenient to I-10 and he has plenty of room for big rigs.
