I had the opportunity to preview Universal Kids Resort, and I came away genuinely impressed!
First impressions? It’s absolutely beautiful. Every land is colorful, immersive, and thoughtfully designed. If you’re looking for a destination that’s made with young kids in mind, this is such a fun option.
✨ What I loved:
💦 So much water play! Definitely pack swimsuits because your little ones are going to want to cool off.
🌈 It feels exciting without being overwhelming. The park has a calmer pace that I think many families will appreciate.
👧🏻👦🏻 I’d say the sweet spot is around ages 3–8, though younger and older kids will still find plenty to enjoy.
🌳 There are lots of shaded playgrounds and play areas where kids can climb, explore, and burn off energy.
🍕 The food was surprisingly good—and reasonably priced.
💙 I also loved seeing dedicated quiet spaces, making the park feel more sensory-friendly for families who may need a break.
📸 Character interactions are everywhere! There are so many opportunities to meet favorite characters throughout the day.
🏨 Could you do it as a day trip? Absolutely—especially if you’re local or within driving distance. But if your schedule allows, I’d recommend spending the night so you can enjoy everything at a more relaxed pace.
A couple things to keep in mind:
• Since the landscaping is brand new, the larger trees haven’t had time to grow in yet, so some walkways have limited natural shade.
• Some of the ride vehicles felt a little narrow, which may not be the most comfortable for every adult riding with their child.
✨ My tips:
✔️ Pack swimsuits.
✔️ Adults: grab the refillable cup—it was definitely worth it.
Overall, I think Universal Kids Resort is going to be an incredible option for local families, weekend road trips, and anyone with younger children looking for a park that’s fun, manageable, and designed just for them. I’d absolutely recommend adding it to your family travel list!
