A relief effort out of our facility is ongoing for hurricane affected areas. While Milton was the most recent disaster, there is still a lot of people in need in the wake of Helene. One of our based customers has been flying and driving specifically to North Carolina with supplies. This effort will make it's last trip this coming up Tuesday 10/15. If you would like to donate, the list of items that are especially needed are: NEW (never worn) warm clothes, jackets, blankets, tents, sleeping bags and camping gear. The temperature has dropped and the folks up there are without adequate attire. The reason for "NEW" is there have been some unforeseen afflictions that have erupted due to the second hand items that were generously donated. Please bring your donations to 4145 Jerry L. Please apply in person! Must be outgoing and able to provide excellent customer service. You will first begin working outside to learn how to safely be around aircraft, guide aircraft in after it lands, greet pilots and their passengers, help with luggage, and drive a golf cart and rental cars on the apron. Next you will learn to work at the front counter, which requires great multitasking skills to check customers in, take fuel orders, answer phones, make hotel and rental car reservations, use our aviation specific software program to enter data, all while providing personal and caring customer service. This picture from 1952 shows the main gate of then Hagler Field airport, which is today’s Pensacola International Airport.

Commercial airline flights began servicing Pensacola about 85 years ago. Hagler Field secured service from National Airlines in the summer of 1937. This was about six years after the completion of the original Pensacola Bay Bridge.

National Airlines flew a 12-seat aircraft on a nine-stop route between Jacksonville and New Orleans that included Pensacola. Commercial air service between Pensacola and Atlanta was initiated by Eastern Airlines in 1947.
