Pensacola Sailing Academy Pensacola Sailing Academy has been teaching people to sail for over 40 years. We offer American Sail Rentals are available for qualified sailors.

Our Pensacola Sailing School is located in the Historic Downtown District, at Seville Harbour Marina. American Sailing Association classes include Basic KeelBoat, Basic Coastal Cruising, Bareboat Chartering, Coastal Navigation, and Advance Coastal Cruising. Set your sails in the wide-open Pensacola Bay, Intracoastal Waterway, East Bay, and Big Lagoon. Explore these beautiful waters by joining the "Buccaneer Sailing Club" where members sail as often as they like on the 22 - 25 foot boats in the Pensacola fleet. For a true sailing adventure enjoy a captained sail on our 393 Beneteau "Splendid Adventuer". Day and overnight charters available. Other offerings include Sunset Sails, History/ Ecology Tours, and "Let's Go Sailing" a three-hour introductory lesson.

We're happy to report that Pensacola Sailing Academy weathered the storm with only minor damage, and we're incredibly thankful! ⛵❤️

Our crew has been busy getting everything put back together, checking equipment, and preparing our boats to welcome everyone back out on the water. If all continues to go well, we're hoping to resume sailing by Thursday!

We do ask for a little patience as we get everything back up and running and work to reschedule lessons that had to be canceled due to the storm. We know everyone is eager to get back on the water, and believe us, we are too! We appreciate your understanding as we get caught up and make sure everything is ready for a safe return to sailing.

Most importantly, we hope all of our friends, neighbors, and fellow Gulf Coast residents made it through the storm safely. Our thoughts are with those who weren't as fortunate, and we encourage everyone to continue looking out for one another as our community recovers.

Thank you for your patience, support, and understanding. We're looking forward to seeing you back on Pensacola Bay very soon! 💙

Hurricane preparations are in full swing here at Pensacola Sailing Academy! ⛵🌀

With Hurricane Isaias approaching the Gulf Coast, we're busy securing our boats and equipment and taking every precaution we can ahead of the storm. Safety is our top priority, and we're doing everything possible to prepare for the weather heading our way.

Once the storm passes and conditions are safe, we'll begin assessing everything and getting our boats ready to sail again. We're hopeful we'll be back on the water early next week, but we'll keep everyone updated as we know more.

To our friends, neighbors, and everyone in the storm's path, please take this storm seriously, finish your preparations, and look out for one another. Stay safe, Pensacola! ❤️

Our Let’s Go Sailing experience is a two-hour introduction to sailing aboard a 22-foot sailboat. It’s a chance to get out on the water, experience sailing firsthand, and find out whether you’ve just discovered your newest favorite hobby.

At $120 per person for groups of 2–4 people, it’s also a pretty great excuse to grab a friend, your spouse, or a couple of family members and try something completely different together.

Here’s the secret: every sailor started as a beginner! You don’t need to know every knot or understand exactly what to do before you step aboard. That’s what learning is for.

October marks the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and today we want to take a moment to recognize everyone whose life has been touched by this disease. 💗

Breast cancer is often talked about as a women’s health issue, but it’s important to remember that men can develop breast cancer, too. Awareness matters for everyone. Knowing your body, recognizing changes, talking with your healthcare provider, and encouraging the people you love to do the same can make a difference.

Throughout this month, we honor those currently facing breast cancer, those who have survived it, the families and friends walking alongside them, and those we have lost.

Our History & Ecology Tour gives you a chance to experience the bay from a different perspective while learning about the history, wildlife, and natural environment that make this area so special.

This 1.5-hour sailing experience is perfect for locals who want to learn a little more about the place we call home or visitors looking for something different to do while they’re here. Tours are $75 per person and accommodate 2–6 people.

Everyone starts somewhere. The terminology, knots, sails, and boat handling might seem like a lot from the dock, but that’s exactly what learning is for. With time on the water and good instruction, those unfamiliar skills start becoming second nature!

At Pensacola Sailing Academy, we welcome beginners who are ready to learn as well as sailors looking to build on the skills and knowledge they already have. From your first sailing lesson, to working your way through ASA certifications, there’s always a next step.

The weekend is here, and we can’t think of a better place to spend it than out on the water. ⛵☀️

Whether you’re learning something new, sharpening your sailing skills, or simply enjoying the fresh air and beautiful waters of Pensacola Bay, a little time under sail has a way of making the rest of the week feel a whole lot farther away.

If sailing has been sitting on your “someday” list, maybe it’s time to turn someday into a plan. From beginners taking their first steps to experienced sailors continuing to build their skills, there’s always another adventure waiting on the water.

Today, we remember September 11, 2001.

We remember the lives that were lost, the families whose lives were forever changed, and the first responders, service members, and everyday Americans who showed extraordinary courage in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

But as we remember September 11th, may we also remember who we were on September 12th.

We checked on our neighbors. We stood beside strangers. We put aside our differences and remembered that, before anything else, we were fellow Americans. In one of our darkest moments, there was an incredible outpouring of compassion, unity, and care for one another.

Twenty-five years later, perhaps one of the greatest ways we can honor those we lost is to carry some of that September 12th spirit with us today—to be kinder, to help when we can, to look out for our neighbors, and to remember that there is far more that unites us than divides us.

We will never forget.
