Ten years ago today, the Pensacola Pup Patrol opened their paws (and their hearts) to PNS passengers.💙

Since then, our Pup Patrol teams have donated LITERAL thousands of hours to making travel a little easier and a whole lot warmer.

They’ve comforted nervous children preparing for their very first flights, helped even the most seasoned travelers find a moment of calm, supported passengers with hidden disabilities and greeted countless people with a wagging tail, a warm hug and exactly the encouragement they needed.

PNS Executive Airport Director, Matt Coughlin, personally thanked each of our four-legged volunteers, and the dedicated humans at the other end of their leashes, for the extraordinary work they do to make Pensacola International Airport more welcoming and inclusive for every passenger.

To every Pup Patroller, past and present: thank you for ten years of service, thousands of volunteer hours and more smiles than we could ever count. Our airport simply wouldn’t be the same without you.

Please join us in wishing Pup Patroller Flynn a very happy birthday!

A Golden Retriever by breed and a goofball by profession, Flynn specializes in leaning on humans like a 70-pound lap dog, collecting as many head pats as possible and making everyone around him laugh.

Happy birthday, Flynn! We hope your day is filled with plenty of treats, belly rubs and absolutely no concept of personal space. 💙

Arrive at least two hours before departure, check live parking availability and track airport shuttles at flypensacola.com, and double-check your bags for anything TSA might find more interesting than you intended.

Three tail wags for Kira’s birthday! 🐾

She may be small in size, but Kira’s heart is anything but! This sweet Shetland Sheepdog has been charming travelers at PNS with her big personality, genuine spirit, and a few pretty impressive tricks (just ask her to sit pretty or shake her paw!).

Kira’s Pup Patrol roots run deep, too. Her two-legged mom, Connie, is one of our original Pup Patrollers and helped establish the program right here at PNS. We’re so grateful for the many years of smiles, wagging tails (not just from Kira, but from her brother Connor, too!), and happy travelers this special family has helped bring to our airport.

Welcome to America's 1st city, Independence One! ✈️

Southwest Airlines’ Independence One made an unexpected stop at PNS Saturday evening, and we were lucky enough to get an up-close look at this incredible tribute to America’s 250th anniversary!

Every detail tells a story: “1776” written across the fuselage in quill script, the words “Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness,” 13 stars representing the original colonies, and engine cowlings inspired by the original Betsy Ross flag. Even its tail number, N1776R, is part of the celebration.

Happy Birthday to Daisy Mae!

This pint-sized pocket beagle has a big heart — and a special talent for putting smiles on the faces of everyone she meets. A certified therapy dog and proud member of our Pup Patrol, Daisy Mae loves meeting new people and sharing a little extra joy throughout PNS.

Originally from San Diego, Daisy Mae and her family moved to Pensacola several years ago and quickly fell in love with our community. We’re certainly lucky they now call Pensacola home!

Please join us in wishing the sweetest little California girl-turned-Florida pup a very happy birthday! 🐾
