The Transportation Department of PPS is run by 72% female employees.
We are Moms that help each other get our kids and your kids to school every weekday, and often get up early on weekend to take your kids to sport events.

A Peoria legend just got company.
James Banks’ 53‑year‑old long jump record (23' 4") has finally been topped!
Junior Malik Johnson jumped 23' 4.75" at the 2025 Peoria City Meet.

From record‑setting athlete to trusted bus driver, James Banks proves that his legacy lasts long after the sand settles — not just through the distance he once jumped, but through the mile and distance he’s spent giving back to the students and community he loves!

Congratulations to both of these amazing athletes!

What an incredible celebration of diversity! Take a look back at the 3rd Annual Multicultural Fair where teachers from 17 different countries came together to share their rich cultures with students, families, and the community. Peoria Public Schools embraces global talent through the J-1 Visa program.

Riding the school bus is an important part of the school day! The bus helps us get to and from school safely, and everyone has a role in making it a positive experience.
On the bus, we:

Observe positive and respectful conduct.
Be courteous and use kind language.
Do not eat or drink on the bus.
Keep the bus clean and place garbage in the trash can.
Cooperate with bus staff and follow directions.
Do not smoke or v**e.
Stay seated until the bus comes to a complete stop and the door opens.
Keep our head, hands, feet, and belongings inside the bus and to ourselves.
Understand that bus staff are authorized to assign seats.

When students make safe and respectful choices on the bus, the ride is smoother, more comfortable, and more enjoyable for everyone. Thank you for being a great bus rider and helping make our school community safe!
