Liberty Transport LLC Entry Level Driver Program
All entry level drivers will be recruited from CDL Training Schools.
Entry level drivers must:
• Complete their CDL training curriculum with a minimum grade of 80%.
• Present his/her CDL certificate of completion along an employment application.
• Pass Liberty Transport LLC vehicle inspection test.
• Pass a Liberty Transport LLC road test.
• Complete Liberty Transport LLC driver orientation.
Once an entry-level driver has completed orientation, he/she are assigned to an experienced owner operator or company driver for a minimum of 120 hours of OTR training.
During the OTR training period, entry level drivers will cover the following:
• Basic controls
• Shifting
• Backing
• Space management
• Etc.
Entry level drivers are required to attend/participate in monthly training sessions at HQ location:
• HOS
• Distracted Driving
• Backing
• Turning
• Driver Time Management
• Night Driving
• Etc.
Upon completion of 120 hours of OTR training, entry-level drivers are placed on probation for 90 days in a company truck and will be closely monitored for the following:
• Dash camera – Both ways driver and road.
• Lane departure
• Front-end collision prevention
• Use of automatic transmission
Probation:
Entry level drivers with one (1) moving violation (speeding, lane restriction, and failure to control vehicle) at the start of the program will be placed on probation for the duration of the program. Upon the completion of the program, new drivers are expected to perform at a standard set forth by Liberty Transport LLC and its insurance carrier.
Entry level drivers who receive three (3) moving or non-moving violations will be disqualified from the program.
Accident or Incident:
All accidents/incidents will be thoroughly investigated by Liberty Transport LLC
• A review of all accident documents will be required to identify and address driver issues.
• Driver s involved in an accident/incident must complete training on preventable accidents.
Disqualification from the entry level driver program:
• DUI within the past three (3) years
• DUI while enrolled in the program
• Two (2) or more violations while enrolled in the in the program and while on probation.
• Violation of company’s Zero Tolerance Policy
• Falsification of documents
• Failure to attend mandatory monthly training
New driver compensation program:
• A salary of $100 per day while in training with company driver or owner operator.
• $.46 per mile upon completion of training.
• $.50 per mile after 6 months of employment
• $.55 per mile after 12 months of employment
Entry level company drivers are expected to run 2250* to 2500* miles per week
*weekly performance expectations will be at Dispatch’s discretion
